What is a Mini Thread Face Lift?
It's a new lifting technique using multiple implantations of special sutures called polydioxanone, commonly known as PDO. Your doctor forms a network of the sutures that acts as a frame for the tissues.
What can it do for me?
A Mini Thread Face Lift creates a noticeable and immediate lifting effect and encourages the natural production of collagen. The skin is rejuvenated, giving it vitality, elasticity and sheen. It improves the appearance of small wrinkles, creases around the nose and flaccid skin.
What's involved?
The procedure is relatively simple and quick (15-30 minutes) and it's applied in our clinics in a single visit with a local anaesthetic. The procedure involves inserting fine needles loaded with PDO mini-sutures that stay in the dermis when the needles are removed. There is no downtime and normal activities can be resumed straight away. Many different areas of the face and individual needs can be catered for.
As well as the aesthetic improvements it makes, a Mini-threads treatment also has a beneficial effect on the tissues, by activating blood flow and the lymph vessels. The tightening caused by the thread implants combined with the plumping produced by the procedure itself produces an immediate visible lifting effect. From the third week, the true effects begin to become apparent.
After 2 to 3 months the full effect can be seen. The threads are absorbed by the body after 3 to 6 months. During this time, their presence continues to stimulate the activity of the fibroblasts, boosting the production of collagen and elastin. The effects endures after the threads have disappeared. If necessary, the procedure can be repeated by implanting new threads until the desired effect is achieved. Retouches can be made at any time.
Recommendations pretreatment.
Avoid aspirin prior to the treatment as it contributes to bruising. Avoid stimulants such as coffee, cigarettes and tobacco.
Post-treatment.
There may be some bruising and inflammation after the treatment, this is a normal reaction to the procedure that will disappear within two weeks. The treated area may be washed some 4 or 5 hours later, but sudden movements must be avoided, as well as opening the mouth widely, hearty laughter or any other similar movement of the facial muscles during the following days. Don't massage the treated area for one month and avoid saunas and heat sources.
Excessive use of make-up on the treated area is not recommended; light make-up only should be applied.
Results
The treatment slows down the skin aging process. It stimulates the hypodermis, offering a natural regeneration through the production of collagen and elastin, while accelerating the skin's metabolism.
The collagen regeneration accelerates with time, which helps to smoothen out wrinkles and creases and gives greater elasticity and sheen to the skin. The treatment also improves flaccid skin and both blood and lymph circulation. The result is a major improvement in the complexion and texture of the skin, giving it a much more relaxed appearance. The inserted threads stimulate the cells that play the most active role in eliminating inflammation.
Its action in the hypodermis has a beneficial effect on a range of problems, such as eczema, atopic dermatitis, acne and others. The activation of the blood circulation and lymphatic system helps to shift and eliminate fatty deposits. The treatment also stimulates the immune system and enhances natural healing processes.

No mechanical thread traction is involved and there is no need to knot or fasten the threads.
The treatment has a high level of patient satisfaction it can be combined and/or complemented with other medical techniques such as dermal fillers and facial mesotherapy. The effects are always natural as the process works by stimulating the action of the fibroblasts.
Possible side effects
Bruising and some localised discomfort may be present for the first few days. There is a low risk of infection provided that basic rules of hygiene are observed. The areas treated may become inflamed and uncomfortable however no convalescence is required and you can return to your daily routine immediately.
